We just spent a week at Camping La Croix du Vieux Pont with my wife and our three kids (ages 4, 7, and 10), and overall it was a fantastic family holiday.
We stayed in one of the mobile homes. It was spacious enough for all five of us, with two bathrooms (a lifesaver!) and a decent kitchen for self-catering. Some bits were a little worn, but it was clean and comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly cozy.
The highlight for the kids was definitely the pools. The water slides had them screaming with excitement every morning, and the indoor pool was great for rainy days. They loved the pedalos on the lake, and we spent hours just watching them run around and splash. The pool areas can get busy, but our kids didn’t mind at all—they just made new friends!
There’s so much to do for kids: sports fields, mini-golf, playgrounds, and organized activities. The entertainment team was fantastic—my kids joined in on a kids’ show one evening and came back thrilled. Even my wife enjoyed the yoga session by the lake!
The on-site bakery was a lifesaver for fresh morning croissants, and the little supermarket was convenient. We cooked some meals ourselves, which was easy thanks to the well-equipped kitchen in our mobile home.
The campsite is scenic, with lakes, rivers, and lots of greenery. It’s also a reasonable drive from Paris and Disneyland, which we might try on a future trip.
Downsides:
Bathrooms and showers could be better maintained, especially in the older blocks.
At peak times, some areas feel crowded, so it’s worth planning pool visits early.
Wi-Fi was patchy in some corners of the campsite.
For a family holiday, this is one of the best campsites we’ve stayed at. Our kids were constantly entertained, the surroundings were beautiful, and it gave us a mix of adventure and relaxation. We left tired but happy, and I can already hear my kids asking when we can go back!
