What itβs really like
A well-equipped Spanish campsite near Benidorm and Albir. Well maintained and clean. The facilities were looked after properly, and it feels more organised and polished than many campsites weβve visited before. It has a slightly more resort-style feel than a rustic campsite, which suited us well.
The pool area was definitely one of the highlights. Thereβs a large outdoor pool, indoor pool and spa facilities, so there was always something to do whether the weather was hot or not. Great for families, it feels safe and spacious for children. There was also entertainment in the evenings, which created a lively atmosphere without feeling too over the top.
Location-wise, it works well if you want access to Benidorm without actually staying in the middle of the noise. Youβre a short drive or taxi ride from beaches, shops and nightlife, but back on site it feels calmer and more relaxed. A Tram station is just outside the campsite that travels both ways along the coast and stops at all the right places, Benidorm, Albir etc. If you can arrange transport from nearby Alicante airport you could easily get away without a hire car.
If we had one criticism, it can feel a little busy in peak periods, with some noise at times. Itβs also not a beachfront site, so you need transport if the beach is your priority.
Overall, we'd happily recommend Almafra. Itβs clean, family friendly, well equipped and gives you the best of both worlds β Benidorm nearby, but a quieter base to return to. If you want a reliable Costa Blanca campsite with proper facilities, itβs a strong option.
