Sportcamp Woferlgut is set against a dramatic mountain backdrop and offers an action-packed stay for all ages. On parc, children can let off steam in the adventure playground and games room, while the whole family can enjoy the modern indoor pool complex (charges apply). For something more natural, take a swim in the parc’s private lake before unwinding in the excellent spa facilities. From mid-May onwards, there are organised sports activities and weekly barbecues, alongside the traditional Austrian Gasthof restaurant – complete with its own wine cellar.

Beyond the parc, fresh mountain air, cycling routes, waterfalls and water sports await at Lake Zell am See. Guests can also explore the wider Salzburg region thanks to a travel contribution of €0.50 per guest (aged 15+) per night, which provides unlimited public transport throughout the area. Guided walking and hiking tours are available from early May through to October.

If you’re looking to venture further, the spectacular Kaprun Glacier is close by and well worth a visit. The parc’s location also offers easy access to the local road network, making day trips simple – although this does mean some areas may experience occasional traffic noise

What it’s really like

A premium sports-focused campsite near Zell am See with incredible facilities including pools, spa areas and a strong activity programme. It’s one of those places that immediately impresses you when you arrive. The setting is genuinely stunning — surrounded by mountains, close to the lake, and everything just feels very “postcard Austria”. It’s a big resort-style campsite rather than a quiet, basic one, and you can tell straight away that it’s built for active holidays and families who want loads to do.

The facilities are probably the biggest strength here. There’s a really impressive pool and wellness area, indoor and outdoor swimming, spa facilities, fitness areas and plenty for kids too. The whole place feels more like a holiday resort with a campsite attached, especially with the hotel and restaurant on site. When everything is running well, it’s a great base for both relaxing and being active.

You’re close to Zell am See, Lake Zell and the Hohe Tauern National Park, so there’s no shortage of things to do — hiking, cable cars, scenic drives, swimming in lakes, all of that classic Austrian mountain holiday stuff.

That said, it’s not perfect. It can feel quite busy and commercial, especially in peak season, and parts of the site don’t always match the “5-star luxury” image it presents. Some of the older facilities feel a bit dated in places, and when it’s full, the pool and spa areas can get crowded and lose a bit of their calm feel. It can be a little noisy depending on mobile home location, which is worth keeping in mind.

Our honest verdict: Woferlgut is a great choice if you want an activity led Austrian holiday with amazing scenery and loads of things to do on site. It’s especially good for families and active travellers. But if you’re expecting pure luxury, total peace and quiet, or a small traditional campsite feel, it might not fully match that expectation.
