Overview
Just outside the historic town of Saarburg, Landal Warsberg enjoys an elevated setting with stunning views over the lush green countryside, creating a memorable backdrop for a family holiday.
Thereโs plenty to keep active guests entertained, including football, basketball, and beach volleyball. For a unique way to explore, take the summer toboggan down into town, or enjoy a more scenic ride on the chairlift with panoramic views over the Mosel Valley.
If you prefer a slower pace, find a quiet spot to relax in the sun or shade. For a bit of well-earned relaxation, the kidsโ club offers activities for younger guests while adults can unwind in the wellness area, complete with Turkish steam baths.
When itโs time to eat, the Bistro Panorama serves hearty traditional meals and family-friendly favourites in a relaxed setting.
What itโs really like
Set on a hillside above the Saar Valley, Landal Warsberg feels peaceful and scenic from the moment you arrive. Itโs one of those campsites thatโs all about the location and views rather than luxury. The setting is genuinely beautiful โ vineyards, rolling hills, and the little town of Saarburg down below with its waterfall and old streets. The chairlift from the town up to the park is actually part of the experience, and the toboggan run is a fun bonus, especially for kids.
The site itself is more of a holiday park than a traditional campsite. Youโve got tents, chalets and mobile homes and it feels quite structured and family-focused. Thereโs an indoor pool, playgrounds, mini golf and entertainment in peak season, so kids are definitely well catered for. Itโs the kind of place where you can easily fill a few days without leaving the park.
What's really great is the location. Youโre close to Saarburg, Trier and even Luxembourg, so there are loads of day trips within easy reach. Hiking and cycling routes are everywhere, and the river valley is great for exploring at a slower pace.
That said, itโs not perfect. Some areas of the park feel a bit dated compared with newer Landal sites, and parts of the accommodation (especially bathrooms in older mobile homes) can feel a bit tired or basic. In peak season it can also feel busy, especially around the pool and main facilities, which are smaller than you might expect for the size of the park. Peak season can occasionally be noisy and accommodation standards vary depending on where you stay.
My honest verdict: Landal Warsberg is a really good base if you want scenery, day trips and a family-friendly setup in a great part of Germany. Itโs less impressive if youโre expecting modern luxury or a super-polished resort feel, but the views and location do a lot of the heavy lifting here.
